Larry Curry, 81
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 hours, 19 minutes AGO
Larry Curry was born in Washtucna, Wash., Feb. 20, 1945. Surrounded by family and friends, he was welcomed into heaven March 27, 2026.
In the year of 1948, Larry moved to the Silver Valley with his parents, Bus and Daisy Curry, and remained a resident until January of 2026. He attended Kellogg High School, where he participated in the baseball, football and basketball programs, with the highlight of winning the state basketball championship in 1964. He also had the honor of being inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame in 2004. Larry’s older brother, Frank Reasoner, was his best friend and hero — long before the world recognized him as one when his life was taken in the Vietnam War. Losing Frank was a milestone in his life that left a great impression. Larry also did a short stint in the military but was honorably discharged under the Sole Survivor Discharge.
Larry was blessed with his son, Tommy, on Dec. 16, 1968. He married the love of his life, Margie, on Jan. 18, 1972, along with her three children, Roger, Debbie and Jana. He learned the importance of a good work ethic at a very young age. He worked hard to demonstrate this from an early age. and continued until he fell ill at age 80. He was a great husband, father and provider to his family.
Early in their marriage, Larry and Marge gave their hearts to God and did their best to lead their children in a way that was pleasing to God while also building a firm foundation for their futures. Some of Larry’s greatest loves were being involved in the building of and serving as an elder for 15 years at Real Life Ministries Silver Valley. He also enjoyed being part of Fort Sherman Academy, where he helped in the survival training of missionaries who serve all around the world. He spent the last three summers doing security at Silver Lake Bible Camp. Not only did he enjoy working with the kids attending, but he also really enjoyed watching several of his grandkids and great-grandkids serve in their ministries. He was in heaven when he was serving in these capacities.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Bus; mother Daisy; brother Frank; brother Mickey; sister Carry Rae; granddaughter Kara; and great-granddaughter Hallie. He is survived by his wife, Margie, sisters Marilynn and Jan, sons Tommy (Brooke) and Roger (Tina) and daughters Debbie (Phil) and Jana (Troy).
There will be a memorial April 25, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Real Life Ministries Silver Valley in Pinehurst, Idaho. We want to remember and honor our husband, father and friend.
