Montana's Department of Revenue, Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division, is a member of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association.

The regulation division recently received an alcohol education grant from this organization. NABCA’s mission is to support member jurisdictions in their efforts to protect public health and safety and ensure responsible and efficient systems for beverage alcohol distribution and sales.

CARD is pleased to announce its third year of awarding five, one-time, $2,000 scholarships to Montana students who created an artist statement and design addressing the question: What does “Alcohol Responsibility Matters” mean to you and your community?

This opportunity was open to all Montana high school seniors willing to submit an original design idea along with an artist statement.

To receive the scholarship, students must attend a Montana post-secondary school, an apprenticeship program, or a certificate institute of higher learning after graduation (including homeschooled students).

A total of 64 qualified submissions were received by the deadline.

Here are the 2026 winners.

- Teague Thompson, Libby

- Alison Nau, Sunburst

- Madeline Pomeroy, Big Fork

- Elsie Detert, Charlo

- Rosy Nick, Reed Point

Their designs may be used on materials for alcoholic beverage establishments to promote responsible alcohol consumption.

The materials will feature a consistent theme focused on Montana, with the tagline “Alcohol Responsibility Matters" and the CARD-designed logo, along with the student’s original artwork.

CARD aims to deliver community-centered messages that remind individuals 21 and over of the importance of being responsible when consuming alcohol. This will support the overall message of CARD Alcohol Responsibility Matters resources for licensees and the public.
