Author Willy Vlautin to visit Emerge on April 17

The North Idaho College Writing Center Visiting Writers Series will host author Willy Vlautin as part of Eastern Washington University’s annual literary Get Lit! Festival.
The reading and discussion will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, April 17, at Emerge, 119 N. Second St., Coeur d’Alene.
The event is free and open to the public.
Vlautin, a novelist and musician, is the author of eight books, including his latest title “The Left and the Lucky” and the Joyce Carol Oates Prize winner “The Horse.” Vlautin is a recipient of three Oregon Book Awards, the Nevada Silver Pen Award and he was inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. He also teaches the masters in writing program at Pacific University.
In its 28th year, Eastern Washington University’s Get Lit! Festival is an annual literary celebration, featuring readings, workshops, craft classes and panel discussions with authors from the Inland Northwest and beyond.
