TRUSTEES: Setting up NIC for success
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 month, 2 weeks AGO
North Idaho College is entering an encouraging new chapter, and it’s hard not to feel optimistic about the direction it’s heading. The new trustees have brought with them a renewed sense of purpose, professionalism, and positivity that is clearly resonating across campus and throughout the community.
For a while, the college faced challenges that created uncertainty and concern among students, staff, and local residents. However, the new leadership has approached these issues with focus and determination. Their commitment to transparency, collaboration, and thoughtful decision-making has helped restore trust and confidence in the institution.
What stands out most is the positive atmosphere they’ve cultivated. There is a noticeable shift in tone — one that emphasizes stability, respect, and forward progress. By prioritizing student success and supporting faculty and staff, the trustees are helping rebuild a strong foundation for the college’s future.
In addition, their willingness to listen and engage with the community has made a meaningful difference. Open communication and responsiveness have gone a long way in reassuring stakeholders that North Idaho College is back on track.
Overall, the trustees deserve recognition for the progress that has been made in a relatively short time. Their leadership is not only stabilizing the college but also setting it up for long-term success. It’s genuinely refreshing to see such a positive turnaround, and it gives many of us renewed pride in North Idaho College.
