Small ball can win you games, and Glacier proved that at Griffin Field Saturday.

Brady Lewellen singled to right field in the sixth inning and brought home Tate Kahler for the lone run in a 1-0 victory over Butte.

Kahler got aboard after being hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Kyler Croft sent him to second on a sacrifice bunt before Lewellen singled to left field on the first pitch to bring Kahler in from second.

Kaeden Kahler and Max Weber connected on back-to-back singles in the fifth inning, but the inning ended with Kahler trying to steal home.

Saturday was a pitcher’s duel otherwise, Croft went the distance on the mound for Glacier (2-0). He allowed four hits and struck out seven.

Butte (1-3) saw Noah Powers go 5 1-3 innings on the bump and allow just the one run on six hits. He fanned three. Zyler Peterson threw 2-3 of a frame for the Bulldogs also, striking out one.
