Police arrested a Post Falls man accused of making threats against law enforcement and smashing windows at the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office early Saturday evening.

Ryan McClintock, 33, was booked into jail on charges of malicious injury to property and terroristic threats, both felonies, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.

Area law enforcement agencies received tips early Saturday evening that a man, later identified as McClintock, was posting videos on Facebook in which he allegedly called for “gangsters and people who were not afraid to die” to “go and take the Coeur d’Alene Police Department and the Post Falls Police Department,” according to police.

McClintock allegedly posted another video in which he said he was on his way to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department and that “all the good officers needed to leave,” a news release said.

Officers from multiple area law enforcement agencies attempted to find McClintock while he was driving, police said.

Police responded at 6:32 p.m. to reports that McClintock was allegedly smashing windows at the sheriff’s office on Government Way.

Many police officers responded to the scene and contacted McClintock as he was walking south on Government Way, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. Police arrested him without incident.

“We want to thank all of the members of the community who provided tips and all of our law enforcement partners who came together to safely resolve a tense situation,” the Coeur d’Alene Police Department said in a news release.
