Claude Terry Potts, 86

Claude Terry Potts was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on Nov. 11, 1939, and passed away March 26, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Thomas Potts, who passed away in 1948, and his mother, Maggie Alyne. Maggie remarried Staff Sergeant Leslie Clyde Holmes, who was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. The family moved to Washington in 1952.

His daughter, Theresa, married Greg Sptrute. They have three children, Phillip, Brandon and Shannon.

Claude married Lola Cummings in 1976 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They were together for 50 years, fishing, camping and raising their children and grandchildren in the Northwest. 

Children include his son, Michael, 53, and his children, Christopher, Tiffany, Derek and Jared. His daughter, Melissa, 48, has a daughter, Josie, and a son, Ryan, 45, who has two children, Haylee and Kelsey.

Terry will be missed by friends and family. 

His favorite song, "Humble and Kind," by Tim McGraw, is how he lived his life and raised his family.

Services are April 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church, 2010 N. Lucas St., Post Falls, Idaho. There will be a celebration of life following at the American Legion, 1138 E. Poleline Ave., Post Falls, Idaho.
