Geraldine Ann Wachholz, 90

Geraldine Ann Wachholz, 90, was born Nov. 23, 1935, to Merle A. Van Dyke and Ruth A. Fimple in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up there and graduated from Benson High School in 1953. She graduated from Immanuel School of Nursing, Omaha in 1957. 

She worked as an RN at Immanuel Hospital until she married Rev. Luther Gerhard Wachholz Sept. 20, 1958. This marriage was blessed with a son Timothy and daughter Barbara. They lived where Luther served churches, in Enid, Oklahoma, Monticello and Cedar Falls, Iowa and Blue Island, Illinois where she worked as an RN in the local hospitals. Due to health requirements for Luther, they moved to Kalispell in 1975 and lived in the Many Lakes area. 

Luther worked for the Telephone Co. retiring in 1991 to his own maintenance business and she worked as an RN at the Kalispell Regional Hospital, Bigfork Convalescent Nursing Home, dental assisting for the local dentist, Flathead County Nursing Home and Brendan House nursing facility retiring in 1989, then joined Luther in his maintenance business until they both retired in 2001. 

She was also a charter member of the East Valley Quick Response Unit. They had lived in a Cabin from 1975 to 1976 then moved to 120 Fairway Blvd in Many Lakes until they moved to Prestige Assisted Living in Kalispell June 3, 2014. On March 7, 2017, they moved to Buffalo Hill Assisted Living where Luther passed away on March 21, 2019. Due to Geraldine's needing more physical help she moved to Tucson on Aug. 31, 2019, to be with her daughter Barbara and receive her help.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy Stack of Omaha and her husband, Luther. 

She is survived by her son, Timothy of Tucson, daughter, Barbara Nason of Tucson, three grandchildren, Elle, Brett and Jordan Nason, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation has taken place by Evergreen Funeral Home in Tucson and services will be held at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, 1890 Hwy 93 N., Kalispell, MT 59901. Burial will take place at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery next to Luther.
