EUREKA — Reed Boyer hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth and Whitefish scored five runs in the sixth inning as the Bulldogs defeated Eureka 8-1 in high school baseball Wednesday.

The Wednesday game came after rain forced a postponement from Tuesday’s original schedule.

Tait Orme put the Bulldogs (1-1) ahead in the top of the first with a single that scored Drew Queen.

Leif Burow tied the game for Eureka (0-3) in the bottom of the second with a single to center that brought home Logan Cuffe.

Boyer restored Whitefish’s lead in the fifth with a long ball to center, scoring Finn Ryan.

Luke Dalen sparked the big sixth with a two-run double to center. Two errors and a walk allowed three more Bulldogs to come home in the frame.

Cullen Wallace threw 5 1-3 innings for the Bulldogs, allowing no runs on one hit. He fanned a pair of batters.

Rowan Burow went 4 1-3 for the Lions, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out six.
