Columbia Falls baseball got back on the winning track last week, dropping Polson 3-1 April 7 and Noxon/Thompson Falls 12-2.

The Cats saw great pitching against Polson as Jett Pitts got the start on the bump, went three innings and fanned six.

Tayvin Beach came in relief and went the rest of the game, striking out five. The Cats scored two runs in the first, as Zeke Dunn drove in Lincoln Fisher on a grounder and Pitts, who had a single in the inning, scored on a wild pitch. The Cats added another run the third. Polson lone run came on a homer off Beach in the seventh.

Against Noxon, Pitts went 3 for 3 at the plate with two triples, one in the first and another in third. He had a double in the second inning.

The Cats put up four in the first, two in second and broke it open in the third with five runs. Pitts led the squad with 3 RBIs and Nico Young and two.

The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

On Monday they beat Browning, 30-0. The big game of the week against Whitefish was postponed due to water on the Whitefish field. The Cats travel to Kalispell to play AA Glacier on Thursday.

They are now 3-1.
