Each year, the Mineral County Community Foundation accepts scholarship applications from Mineral County students and residents seeking to further their education.

MCCF is proud to award several scholarships annually to support local students in pursuing their academic and career goals.

These scholarships include a premier $1,500 award presented to the top overall applicant; three $1,000 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors from each of the county’s high schools—St. Regis, Superior, and Alberton; a $500 scholarship awarded to a current high school junior; and a $500 scholarship awarded to a former Mineral County student who is currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school.

Applications for the 2026 scholarships were due on Feb. 14. This year, MCCF received 16 applications. Each application was reviewed individually by members of the MCCF Board, followed by a group meeting to discuss and evaluate the candidates.

In reviewing applications, the board places particular emphasis on community volunteerism, intended career or vocation, participation in extracurricular activities and leadership roles, and academic performance as reflected in grades and transcripts.

The Mineral County Community Foundation is happy to announce the scholarship winners for 2026.

Gage Horn of Superior has been selected as this year’s premier scholarship recipient and will receive $1,500 to further his education. Gage’s application stood out significantly among the many strong submissions received.

Additional recipients from Superior include Perri Jasper, who will receive $1,000, as well as George Hanson and Lane DiGiando, who will each receive $500.

Recipients from Alberton include Tam Dao, who will receive $1,000, and Caitlyn Albertson, who will receive $250.

St. Regis recipients include Shelby Simkins, who will receive $1,000; Mae Grosenbaugh, who will receive $500; and Emma Gillette, who will receive $250.

Our junior student recipient is Josie Crabb, who will receive $500. Post-graduate scholarships will be awarded to Lacey Zimmerman of Alberton and Laney Crabb of Superior, who will each receive $500.
