Evelyn Marjorie Mundt, lovingly known as Jodi, passed away peacefully on Dec 15, 2025, at the age of 92 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Born on April 15, 1933, in Genesee, Idaho, she was the daughter of Carl and Inger Simons. She grew up in Genesee, graduating from Genesee High School in 1951, and later attended Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, Washington.

On Aug. 15, 1953, Jodi married the love of her life, Elmer Oscar Mundt, in her hometown of Genesee. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in family, faith, and hard work. In 1959, they settled in Coeur d’Alene, where they owned and operated a 300-acre farm. Jodi fully embraced farm life—working the land, raising cattle, tending crops, and at one point caring for over 150 chickens whose eggs she sold to local markets. Her dedication, resilience, and commitment to the farm reflected her strong character and unwavering work ethic.

Jodi gave generously to her community. She served as a 4-H leader, contributed her voice to the Trinity Lutheran Church choir, and shared her passion for gardening as a Master Gardener. A gifted artist and devoted quilter, she created countless handmade pieces that she lovingly gifted to family and friends. She also cherished animals, puzzles, audiobooks, and the quiet joy of bird watching.

Family was the center of her world. She treasured time spent camping at Spring Creek, celebrating milestones, and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her pride in each of them was deep and enduring.

Jodi was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, and her son, Michael. She is survived by her children—Larry Mundt, Teri Heinrich, and Lori Anne Peterson—along with seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coeur d’Alene.

Her gentle spirit, creativity, faith, and love leave a legacy. She will be dearly missed. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the final arrangements. Please visit Jodi’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
