George Thorogood and The Destroyers will perform Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Festival at Sandpoint as part of the nonprofit organization’s 2026 summer concert series at War Memorial Field. The Robert Cray Band will open the show.
Member presale tickets will be available from April 8 at 7 a.m. through April 9 at 11:59 p.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 10, at 7 a.m. PT.
Thorogood and The Destroyers have spent more than five decades touring and recording, gaining widespread recognition for a catalog that includes songs such as “Bad to the Bone,” “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” “Move It On Over” and “Who Do You Love?” The band has performed thousands of live shows since forming in the mid-1970s and continues to tour internationally.
And whether it’s been their landmark performances at Live Aid and on SNL or recent smash tours with John Fogerty, ZZ Top, and Sammy Hagar, they remain a top concert act.
“Don’t let anyone tell you this gig won’t keep you energized,” Thorogood said. “I defy bands half our age to put on a show like we do night after night.”
In a career that has seen him recently receive such tributes as The B.B. King Award from The Montreal International Jazz Festival, being made honorary members of The Bo Diddley Centennial Committee, and being invited to perform at The Grand Ole Opry, Thorogood said there are many milestones left to achieve.
“It’s crazy to think that we’ve spent the last half century performing music we love for audiences who love what we do,” he said. “But when you’ve got the best job in the world, you can’t ever rest on your laurels. We not only work hard to bring our best, but to keep getting better. That’s the only mission. That’s rock 'n' roll.”
The opening act, The Robert Cray Band, is led by guitarist and vocalist Robert Cray, a five-time Grammy Award winner known for his blend of blues and soul. Cray’s career spans more than 50 years, during which he has released 19 studio albums and collaborated with artists including B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Tina Turner.
Tickets for the concert are $81 and include all taxes and fees. Gates will open at 6 p.m., with music scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. The show will follow a standard Festival at Sandpoint layout, with a general-admission standing and dancing area located in front of the stage.
The Festival at Sandpoint is a nonprofit organization that presents an annual outdoor summer concert series at War Memorial Field in Sandpoint. The 2026 season is scheduled to run from July 30 through Aug. 9.
