Law roundup: Teens terrorize drivers
Daily Inter Lake | Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 1 month, 1 week AGO
A bunch of teenagers in a car reportedly matched the speed of a woman’s vehicle and pulled out what looked like a silver pistol and pointed it at her. They yelled at her and threatened to kill her. She said the car had green lights inside it.
Officers later received a report of being followed by a white or silver car near Reserve Drive and U.S. 93 when someone in the backseat allegedly shot at them as they drove by. The car was also described as having green lights inside and dim yellow headlights. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in the Hutton Ranch area, the bypass or the west side of town.
A drunk driver with a White Claw hard seltzer and a child in his vehicle reportedly went through a drive-thru.
A man was allegedly captured on video slashing and stealing tires, which he threw into a two-door white truck.
A man complained his neighbor paid a visit to harass and threaten him. Officers told both to stop harassing each other and “coexist peacefully.” Both seemed to come to an understanding that they would leave each other alone.
A woman went over to a man’s short-term rental and reportedly pounded on the door, disturbing the guests. She apparently wanted to know if the owner was moving out. The man wanted to document the incident since he had an upcoming hearing regarding a temporary restraining order.
Someone driving by a location reportedly saw two different fights between minors. In one incident, the driver reportedly saw juveniles grabbing a kid walking by, who they hung up by the heels, putting him in a truck where they restrained him.
The other alleged fight turned out to be children just messing around, wrestling in the grass, which a video corroborated. Officers addressed the issues and school administrators reportedly took care of notifying parents. Officers also sent one mother photos of cigarettes and litter.
A man reportedly lost his wallet at a gas station pump. It was recovered and returned, but $500 was missing. He did not want to press charges. He just wanted the money back.
A man allegedly thought another driver was following him but didn’t know why. The suspect vehicle reportedly had two reckless driving complaints against it, but nothing indicating violence.
