USA: A warning from scripture

There was a lot of free speech going on at the No Kings rally. Pretty amazing for a country supposedly run by a king. Russian flags, Hamas flags, Palestine flags, Iran flags, Hezbollah flags, Trans flags. Drag flags, LGBT flags. A fair depiction of today’s Democratic party. Is Olympus falling?

John Adams said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” He meant that the U.S. government relies on internal civic virtue, not just external force, to maintain order.” It appears today, we only have half the formula. “Force”

Adams used the word virtue, meaning, “Conformity to high moral and ethical standards, representing moral excellence, goodness, and righteousness.”

Lot’s example in 2 Peter 2: 7-8. says: “And if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)”. Shortly after that, God destroyed Sodom.

Is there a warning here? Our Constitution calls our rights “inalienable” Which means government doesn’t allow your rights, rather the responsibility of government is to protect these rights given by God. Sodom is a good reminder, “God gives and he takes away.”
