Virgil ‘Eddy’ Hoerner, 78

Virgil Edward “Ed” Hoerner, 78, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at 1:32 am surrounded by his loved ones. He is now reunited in heaven with those who went before him.

Ed lived a full and meaningful life. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, and truly enjoyed time spent outdoors. More than anything, he cherished time with his family.

He was the third of eight siblings and a man of strong faith. Ed was a devoted husband, a protective and loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. Ed proudly served in the United States Army Airborne and honored his country well. A funeral service was held at First Baptist Church in Whitefish, Montana, on Friday, April 3.
