Marking 30 years of boundary-pushing music that honors Irish music traditions, contemporary Celtic group Solas stops in Kalispell April 19.

Formed in New York City in 1995, Solas quickly rose to prominence as a revolutionary force in Irish American music. The very first iteration of Solas brought together a lineup of extraordinary talent including multi-instrumentalist Séamus Egan, fiddler Winifred Horan, vocalist Karan Casey, guitarist John Doyle and accordionist John Williams. In 2025, they welcomed two celebrated contemporary artists to the stage: Irish singer and flutist Nuala Kennedy and guitarist Alan Murray.

Together, Solas redefined the Celtic sound for a new generation, weaving traditional Irish tunes with elements of folk, bluegrass, Americana and contemporary songwriting. Whether interpreting a centuries-old ballad or unveiling an original composition, the band approaches each piece with curiosity, skill and emotional resonance. Their ability to evolve without losing their essence has made them a cornerstone of the Celtic music scene and an inspiration to countless artists.

The show starts at 4 p.m. in McClaren Hall. The Wachholz College Center is located at 795 Grandview Dr., Kalispell. Ticket prices start at $33, including fees, or $27.50 for seniors 62 and up. Tickets can be purchased online at wccmt.org or by calling the ticket office at 406-756-1400.
