Panhandle high schools formed the North Idaho Football Assoc. Teams included are Lewiston, Kellogg, Coeur D'Alene, Plummer, Moscow, Wallace, Genesee, Sandpoint, and Bonners Ferry. The first game will be Kellogg at Bonners Ferry.
Great Northern surveyors have been at work in the Kootenai River Canyon between here and Troy, Montana. It is believed that they plan to widen the canyon because of the number of slides.
The U.S. Forestry Service has completed 2 new bridges over the Moyie River- one at Meadow Creek and one at Snyder.

A petition calling for a stronger dog leash law was presented to the city council.
City Council announces a water rate increase.
Mike Woodward is the new County Building Inspector.
Four Bonners Ferry High School students were part of the Idaho all-State Mixed Chorus. They were Betty Knapple, Alisa Niemiec, Robert McCoy and Herb McCoy.
Schools were closed all this week because of the mud and soft road conditions.

A 53 year-old Bonners Ferry man was found alive Saturday morning after spending the night on the Kootenai River. Greg Deboer was paddling and appeared to run out of steam, and the river took him and his kayak downstream.
The second Earth Day Fair is coming to the Boundary County Fairgrounds on Saturday.
Caring People for Animals in Bonners Ferry raised money to help Joey, a six year old Dalmatian who needed an expensive surgery to save his life.
