Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization Call for Projects and Programs for Elderly and Handicapped Transportation Services and Capital Projects 2027-2032 Notice of Availability of Application to Apply Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization (KMPO), as the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for Kootenai County, works in collaboration with the Idaho Transportation Department and the other four MPO’s around the State of Idaho to conduct the call for applications, prioritization, and selection of programs or projects that desire to utilize Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 small urban funds for elderly and disabled services and capital projects into and within the Coeur d’ Alene Urbanized Area. The purpose of these funds is to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation service and providing transportation mobility options. These program funds support transportation services planned, designed, and carried out to meet the special transportation needs of seniors and individuals within smaller urbanized areas with a population between 50,000 and 200,000. Eligible projects include both traditional operations and capital investments, as well as nontraditional investments, beyond the ADA complementary paratransit services.
