A dapper young man apparently conned a woman out of a $100 with a fake gold coin. The woman told the Kalispell Police Department that she came across a listing for the coin on Facebook Marketplace. Although they initially set up the transaction near a gold store so that the coin could be appraised, they ended up meeting at the youth's home. The woman described the youth as wearing a suit as it was prom night for one of the local high schools. Afterward, she learned the gold coin was counterfeit. The case was passed along to a school resource officer as it appeared the budding con artist had other coins listed for sale online.
