Local Jiu-Jitsu coach wins IBJJF Pan-American Championship title

Full caption: Eduardo Alves de Inojosa, a teacher and coach at North Idaho Jiu-Jitsu in Sandpoint, recently was crowned champion at the 2026 IBJJF Pan-American Jiu-Jitsu Championship held March 24 through 29 at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Fla. Inojosa, pictured atop the podium alongside Alex Barci Peçanha (second) and Paulo Ricardo Benatto and Vitor Moscon Schlosser (tied for third), claimed the Master 2 Black Belt Super-Heavy (222 pounds) division while representing Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu. With his win at the event, considered to be one of the four major Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in the world, Inojosa now ranks as No. 9 internationally. "This victory has meant a milestone in my career as an athlete," Inojosa noted. "Being a champion isn’t just about the medal on your chest, it is the feeling of overcoming yourself — and your greatest adversary: your own mind.”
