The North Idaho Music Teachers Association announced its annual Piano Performance Festival this weekend at North Idaho College. It will feature guest adjudicator Dr. Deborah Rambo Sinn, an internationally respected pianist, educator and clinician.
The Piano Performance Festival is a cornerstone event in the North Idaho music community, providing students of all ages the opportunity to perform prepared repertoire in a supportive, educational setting, a press release said.
Participants receive individualized feedback from a master teacher, helping them refine their artistry, technique and musical expression. Unlike competitive events, the festival emphasizes growth, confidence-building and meaningful musical achievement.
“Students aren’t just learning pieces, they’re learning how to manage nerves and follow through to a finished result in a supportive performance setting,” said Alyssa Jacobs, president of NIMTA. “It’s a place where they can grow, take risks and even struggle a little — all of which builds resilience and moves them toward true musical mastery and confidence.”
The festival runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It will culminate in an Honors Recital at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Choir Room at NIC. This recital will feature selected performances from festival participants and is free and open to the public.
