Why the 'Big, Beautiful bill will' save the power grid
The Western News | UPDATED 2 days, 22 hours AGO
Taxpayer subsidies to (unreliable) wind and solar power have weakened and threatened the U.S. power grid.
The Big Beautiful Bill will end this...by ending such subsidies. We may not all agree with what's in this bill, but this action alone makes it worthy of passage.
For years taxpayers have been forced (via government subsidies) to foot the bill for give-aways to often corrupt wind and solar companies: RECALL the huge SOLYNDRA scandal under Obama which received $535 million in taxpayer funded federal loans but went bankrupt? Were taxpayers ever paid back? lol
THIS is but ONE example of waste & failure and one of MANY cases where a FEW made big money at the expense of taxpayers. THIS continues today and adds to the degradation of the U.S. power grid. The corruption has not stopped.
RELIABLE, traditional power production has & is having its operating revenue looted by subsidized, unreliable solar and wind power. Some of that revenue
is used to maintain, modernize & expand the national grid. Market distortion occurs because these traditional sources cannot compete with the low bids from subsidized unreliable renewables. Solar and wind subsidies are a costly mistake which result in higher costs and less reliable electricity.
Research shows that over half the country is facing the risk of power shortfalls & outages over the next decade. The national power grid is teetering on the brink. NOW, for the first time in years, the economics of building traditional & reliable plants is turning this around.
We owe this to a handful of politicians who are CUTTING MASSIVE solar and wind subsidies in the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
These subsidies didn’t just take hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars. They systematically destroyed the economics of the reliable power sources that keep our grid running. Ever since the advent of SUBSIDIZED 'renewables,' our power grid reliability has been falling.
Real physicists will tell you that from a pure physics (science) standpoint, 'renewables' don't and WON'T work - they are akin to pushing a rock up hill.
From an economic & business standpoint, they haven't and NEVER will pay their way. From an environmental standpoint, 'green' energy' is anything but: visually ugly & noxious, UN-recyclable & land robbing, killing milllons of birds, other wildlife & fish/seafood (off shore wind farms.)
Why keep throwing good money after bad?
