Great Falls High brought some speedy boys into Legends Stadium Friday and left with a dual win over the reigning AA champion Braves.

Some big names sat out for Flathead, most notably Will Hollensteiner, and the Bison took advantage, scoring 80.5 points to Flathead’s 64.5.

Flathead’s girls, led by Bristol Lenz’ blazing hurdles race, won 87-56.

Kayden Davison won the long jump and triple jump for the Bison boys, and Gary Lapier won the 100 and 200, the latter in a quick 22.63 seconds.

The Braves still had plenty of highlights, with personal records set all over the place. Carson Thorne (4:31.87) led a 1-2 Flathead finish with Christopher Holland (4:37.18) in the 1,600; both hit their PRs and sit second and fifth among AA runners.

Thorne and teammate Cole Gress also went 1-2 in the 3,200, and Thorne’s 9:59.52 was another PR. It’s also No. 4 in AA.

Brett Chivers won the 400 in 50.90 seconds, the second-best time in AA (behind Hollensteiner’s 47.72)

Kohen Rilley had a 55-foot shot put, a PR, for Flathead; it ranks third in AA.

Sirreal Rice swept the hurdles races. Nate Moy won the high jump and finished third in the 100 meters.

For the Bravettes, senior Julia Kay continues to impress – she won the 100 in 12.89 and the 200 in 26.56. The latter sits just outside the top six in Class AA this season. Joining Kay as a double-winner was senior Naomi Miller, who won the 300 hurdles and the triple jump.

Lenz blew over the 100 hurdles in 15.07, which leads all of Class AA. (Great Falls’ Scarlet Harris, second at 15.45 Friday, is No. 2 in the event for AA).

Lenz and Kay ran on both victorious relays as well.

Emery Eash swept the 800 and 1,600 for Flathead; Akyah Hardman won the 3,200, and the Bravettes also got a win Brynn Kossman in the shot put.
