Valerie “Val” Ann Silvey-Singer, 73, passed away March 25, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Worley, Idaho, following a short battle with ovarian cancer.

Valerie was born April 15, 1952, in Spokane, Wash., to Maurice and Dorothy Silvey. She was one of four siblings, alongside Mike (Clare) Silvey, Terry (John) Webb, and Stacie (Wade) DeGeest. She graduated from Central Valley High School in 1970 and went on to pursue her dream of attending beauty school. Over the next 50 years, Valerie built a career filled with laughter and connection, telling jokes and helping her clients feel beautiful. Along the way, she gained more than just friends-she gained family.

In her early years, Val moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1976. There, she met David Beadell, and the two were soon married. In February of 1978, they welcomed their son, Chad. Val and David later divorced, and in 2009, she married Ben Singer. They spent the next several years enjoying life together, making the most of every moment. Much of their time was spent floating the river and four-wheeling at their place in St. Regis, Mont. They shared many adventures, from cruises to visits to their favorite gambling destination, Laughlin, Nev. When Val wasn’t traveling, you could count on finding her in her yard, pruning her petunia tree and making sure every last pine cone and needle were picked up all while enjoying one of her signature margaritas in hand. When she wasn’t exploring, she cherished moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Valerie is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Singer, her parents, Maurice and Dorothy Silvey and her sister, Terry. She is survived by her brother, Mike (Clare) Silvey, sister Stacie (Wade) DeGeest, brother-n-law John Webb, daughter Monica (Sean) Clancy, Chad (Lindsey) Beadell, grandchildren Jadyn Singer (Levi Cummings), Jace Singer (Abbie Joyce), Hudson Beadell, Hayden Beadell, Harper Beadell, Owen (Sayre) Clancy, Madi Clancy, great-grandchildren Kopper Cummings, Cedar Singer along with many nieces and nephews.

We will miss her radiant smile, witty charm, loving heart and the bright, colorful outfits she so loved to wear.

We would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the amazing care they provided for her during this time.

Celebration of life will be June 21, 2026. Please contact Monica for more information at 208-699-6030.
