April 12, 1976 – SERVICE NEWS 

Navy Seaman Recruit Richard M. Peters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Peters, Sagle, graduated from recruit training at the Naval Training Ctr., San Diego. The former SHS student enlisted in Nov. 1975.

WOODLAND NAMED DEANERY PRESIDENT 

The ladies of St. Joseph Altar Society, Sandpoint, took over leadership of the Northern Deanery of the Idaho Council of Catholic Women at a meeting in Post Falls. Anna Woodland, who had served as first vice-president, is the president for 1976-77. Also installed from Sandpoint were Irene Sundquist, second v-p; Donna Fields, secretary; Elsie Temple, treasurer; historians Doreen Saunders and Floy Kemmis; auditors Gil Scribner and Maxine Quebral; parliamentarians Beulah Bowlden and Lucille Hudon. First v-p is Mary Damiano of Kellogg.

SELLE GOURMET ELECTS OFFICERS 



The Selle Gourmet 4-H Club held its first meeting  at the Gerald VanDenBerg home. Barbie Eggleston was elected president; Carsten Sorensen, vice president; Tom VanDenBerg, treasurer; Cindy Short, secretary; and Kirsten Rosman, reporter.

BEST POOL-PLAYING GALS IN TOWN 

The Middle Earth Tavern team last week won the Ladies Thursday Night Pool League. The team, managed by Jim Pucci, includes Terry Schaffer, Jan Gotham, Patty Elvester and Donna Trone.

April 12, 1951 – BIRTHDAY PARTY SATURDAY 

The eighth birthday of Diane Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Brown, was celebrated with friends at her parents’ home, 1038 Cedar. Guests were Kathy Brooks, June Carlson, Arlene Arndt, Judy Evans, Sharon Pellens, Kathy Whipple, Anne McKenney, Sandra Spealman, Sue Solomon, Penny Goodwin and Diane’s grandmother, Mrs. A. Slette.

PARTY FOR SEVENTH BIRTHDAY 

Paula Greenleaf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenleaf, observed her seventh birthday April 5 with a party at her home. Games, cake and ice cream were enjoyed by Frances and Joan Rogers, Lorraine Rainey, Darlene Pennington, Phillip Rogers, Felix Rogers and the honored guest.

SERVICE NEWS 

Pfc. Frank R. Fall is home from Keesler AFB, Miss. after completing a course in radar operations. After spending his furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fall, he will report for duty to an air force base near New York City. Pfc. Fall, a 1950 SHS graduate, enlisted in the air force on Jan. 1.  

Pvt. Carl F. McGee of the medical corps, 180th infantry, 45th division, sailed for Japan Mar. 29, after a 15-day furlough spent with his wife and in-laws in Kimball, W. Va. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee McGee of Sandpoint, prior to his induction into the army, was a junior theology major at Walla Walla college.
