LEGISLATORS: The one and the many
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 month AGO
The well organized “No Kings” rallies have lately made headlines. Speakers at these rallies have called for a national “strike day” on May 1. Their stated goal is fundamental change in the structures of society towards a collectivist or communist form of government.
A main premise of Marx and Ingles’ Communist Manifesto is that “matter’ (materialism) is all there is. There is no transcendent spiritual Truth from which to derive a set of guiding principles. In the name of providing for the needs of the “many,” these advocates seek to consolidate power in the hands of the “few” whose actions are framed by expediency and control.
Also, during the recent legislative session in Boise, there were several proposals regarding illegal immigration. These had broad support around the state but were blocked by chairmen of committees in the Senate. The power of “we the people” was concentrated in the hands of one person who then controlled the agenda for the entire body. While there are rules for breaking this stranglehold, there are rarely enough votes to do so.
Three of the bills that were “stuck” in the Senate sought to curtail illegal immigration in the workplace. There was huge pressure from some big employers against this idea. Some of these companies went so far as to take away business from the family of a senator who was taking a stand in favor of immigration enforcement.
There is an important election coming up on May 19. Please do your research and choose candidates who understand the spiritual principles of liberty. Choose candidates who also will stand up for the rights of the “many” Idahoans and not just for the privileged “few.”
