A veteran's view on Iran
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 2 days, 11 hours AGO
I see on the news that 59% of Americans are against the war in Iran. My bet is that these people have never been in a war and worse, most don’t know anything about wars.
For me, I support what is going on and here are my reasons. Best to nip it in the bud now rather being attacked AGAIN later. I just look at history. When WW1 came about, Europe ignored the warning signs and the Germans attacked. Then along came WW 2. The same thing happened. Europe again didn’t want war. Anthony Eden of England talked to Hitler and was told everything was fine. Europe didn’t want war, they wanted to talk, same thing that was going on with Iran now. But Hitler lied, just like the Iranian leadership still does. My bet is that the 59% against the war in Iran, don’t even know who Anthony Eden was, otherwise they need to brush up on their history.
Then along came 9/11 where the Twin Towers in New York were taken down by Islamic extremists, with over 3,000 killed. Then do you remember the bombing of the barracks in Beruit, killing 241 Marines? Then there have been numerous isolated incidents in the U.S. by these people.
In summary, if the Iranians really wanted the war to stop, they would have stopped firing missiles, but they don’t. Nor will they stop. Haven’t these 59% people seen the marches in Iran, burning American flags. And the bad ones, shout “death to America.” Then there is the chant “death to the infidels.” Well my friends, you are the infidels.
For me, I am a war veteran, of the Vietnam War. I saw a lot of death, so I know what it is all about. Viet Cong, friendly by day, try to kill you at night. If something is not done to Iran, it is not if there would be another attack, it is when. Don’t these people know Iran is also bombing other countries, even now, or is their position, they just don’t care about other people. Time to wake up America.
