Aspen Orr leads Troy effort at Dave Tripp Memorial

Troy athletes turned in a strong showing Friday at the Dave Tripp Memorial in Polson, with Aspen Orr and Michael Gillespie posting some of the top performances of the day for the Trojans.
Orr had a standout meet on the girls side, winning the 400 meters in a personal-best 1:03.39 and adding another victory in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 16 feet, 4 inches. She nearly made it a third win, taking second in the 200 in 28.28 seconds and capping her day with another runner-up finish in the triple jump at a personal-best 34-10.5.
Jessie Heileson also contributed a strong all-around day for Troy. She tied for seventh in the 100 in 14.91, placed 17th in the 200 in 31.30, tied for 12th in the long jump at 12-4.5 and finished eighth in the triple jump with a personal-best 28-8.
On the boys side, Gillespie paced Troy with a runner-up finish in the triple jump at a personal-best 36-11. He also placed fifth in the 400 in 58.65, eighth in the 200 in 26.02 and 10th in the long jump at 17-1.5 to give the Trojans points across multiple events.
Troy will compete Saturday at the Libby Invitational.
