John Robert Weisz, 92

John Weisz passed away April 5, 2026, at the age of 92. 

He was born to John and Magdalena Weisz in 1934 in Sandpoint, Idaho. He attended Kootenai Grade School and graduated from Sandpoint High School. John proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. Following his military service, he built a career in construction as a surveyor. 

In 1962, John married Jane Tillberg in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage. 

John found joy in the simple things. He was a man who truly believed that a day without a joke was a day wasted. John was a passionate dog lover. They were not just pets, but his constant and faithful friends. He especially enjoyed spending time at home and working on projects around the house. 

John is survived by his wife, Jane Weisz; his daughter, Debora, and her husband, Grant Hatchett; his grandchildren, Morgan and Ella; and his sister, Mary Mitton.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel Weisz; his parents, John and Magdalena Weisz; his sisters, Katherine Gerber, Elizabeth Kemp, Barbara Bouse, Ann Stutzke, and Maggie Dockins-Barret; and his brothers, Joe, Pete and George Weisz.

A service to honor John will be held April 18 at 1 p.m., at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
