Law roundup: Angry boys come to blows
Daily Inter Lake | Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 1 month AGO
Six drunk boys allegedly went to an Airport Road home and started pushing a woman’s 21-year-old son, possibly angry that one of their friends’ ex-girlfriends attended a house party there earlier that night. Mother and son reportedly teamed up and kicked them off the property. Neither wanted to pursue criminal charges, but the mother wanted the Kalispell Police Department to contact the boys’ parents and tell them to stay off the property, noting that it was the third time they had attempted to jump her son.
Someone who was woken up by barking dogs allegedly saw a white minivan dragging a Jeep at a dead end in front of the water tower and thought it may have run into rocks but couldn’t see if the vehicle was damaged.
Someone reportedly tried to break up a group of six to eight people in their teens or early 20s who were calling each other names on the east side of Merganser Drive before the situation escalated.
Extra patrols were requested for vehicles driving “excessively” up and down First Avenue, creating too much noise for a resident.
A woman complained about an ongoing issue with a neighbor who allegedly turns on music in his garage when he wakes up and doesn’t turn it off until midnight. She added that he often screams profanities at her and shines a spotlight at her house.
Two people were reportedly riding dirt bikes on the Rails to Trails path for a couple of days. Officers determined from maps that the trails in question were in the county jurisdiction and city ordinances didn’t apply. Since the man who reported the duo wanted to remain anonymous and didn’t want contact, no further action was taken.
A concerned father called the police when his daughter, who was at a gas station, told him about a suspicious man with a minivan who kept staring at her, making her uncomfortable. He said he didn’t need to be contacted and just wanted officers to be informed that he was on his way to talk to gas station employees.
Two men allegedly yelled at a woman driving a Pontiac and a passerby contacted police, concerned for her safety. Both men left in the vehicle with her.
A neighbor suspected someone was living in an upstairs unit that was supposed to be vacant, as the landlord was going through the process of evicting the tenant. Officers cleared the apartment and did find signs that someone was living there, including animals, personal items and a debit card.
