Charles Lacey White, 98, died peacefully April 13, 2026, at his daughter's house in Lakeside. He will be deeply missed by his three children, Marcy Anderson, Mike White and Maggie Mende, his six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Butte, Lacey often spoke of his fondest memories of spending the summers at the Dawson ranch in the boulder valley — his mother's family.

He attended Carroll College where he played varsity basketball and later went to the University of Montana pharmacy school. After graduating he served in the U.S. Navy, at Maryland in the pharmacy. During this time, he married Marcella Chezick.

After the Korean War, Lacey built a career as a pharmacist, serving communities in Warm Springs, Deer Lodge, and ultimately Kalispell where he retired from the B&B.

In his later life he moved to California to live with his daughter Maggie and later with his son Mike and eventually back to Montana to be with Maggie and Jim Mende.

A memorial service will be held July 2 at the Mende's.
