Round up for Safety equips Whitefish Library

Whitefish Community Library received a Flathead Electric grant written by the Whitefish Library Association to add staff-friendly fire extinguishers to the library building.
“We noticed during safety training with our new AED, which also came from a FEC grant, that our fire extinguishers were too heavy for staff to use safely,” said Library Director Mary Drew Powers. “Whitefish Library Association offered to help out by applying for a Roundup for Safety Grant from Flathead Electric.”
Three new extinguishers were added late last year, joining the many other safety improvements that FEC grants have funded at the Whitefish Library.
“They’ve purchased security cameras and upgrades to those cameras, replaced steps and added handrails, and the new AED,” said Powers.
