Superior thinclads second, third in Tripp Memorial

The Bobcat girls won second place and the boys third in final team standings at the Dave Tripp Memorial track and field meet in Polson Friday.
Led by Ava White, who won the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles and took second in the pole vault, the Lady Cats finished with 50.5 team points to finish second to Plains (64) in the 13-team girls meet.
Led by event winners Landon Richards (who claimed the high jump with an impressive effort of 6-4) and Henry Hanson (who won the pole vault with an equally impressive height cleared of 13-0), the Bobcat boys scored 50 team points to finish third behind Plains (92.5) and Arlee (66.5) in the 16-team boys meet.
Providing backup for White on the girls side, Maryisa Swope finished third in the pole vault and Mickolani Ruthford tied for sixth, Swope also won third in the javelin, Lily Jasper won third place in the triple jump and Ruthford als placed fourth in the long jump.
Also scoring for the boys in Polson, Amarie Johnson won third place in the shot put and fourth in the discus, Gannon Quinlan placed third in the pole vault, Hanson took fourth in the 200 meters, and Richards added placing points in the 110 meter hurdles (second place) and 300 hurdles (fourth).
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Conrad Talbot, Quinlan, Richards and Hanson earned a sixth place point for Superior.
Superior track and field teams were scheduled to compete in an MCPS Invitational meet in Missoula Friday but that event could not be confirmed at press time.
