SANDPOINT — Friday’s Pend Oreille Arts Council show is one for the whole family.

Set for Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at the Panida Theater, the POAC is hosting juggler, comedian and Guiness world record holder Alex “The Zaniac” Zerbe. Known as a "human cartoon," Zerbe combines high-energy physical stunts, magic, beatboxing, and comedy suitable for all ages.

“We invite the young, and the young at heart to enjoy this 'funtastic’ show,” said POAC Executive Director Tone Stolz. “We promise you will leave sore from laughing and with a huge smile on your face!”

Voted Seattle's Funniest Prop Comic, Zerbe has appeared on national television, including “America's Got Talent” and “Last Comic Standing”. He also holds two Guiness world records for hacky sack, and claims to have sung in over 12,000 showers!  With the energy of 10,000 suns, POAC officials said The Zaniac shines like a comedy beacon as he bounces from one end of the stage to the other like an untamed rubber band. Jaws will drop, and eyes will pop as Alex juggles bowling balls, flaming torches and slices vegetables in half with a flying playing card. He also wants you to know that his mom thinks he’s pretty funny, officials said.

The Zaniac’s visit to Sandpoint will also include an educational outreach as part of POAC’s Ovations program. Partnering with the Lake Pend Oreille School District, Ovations is free outreach that provides quality educational experiences in the performing arts for students in our community who would not otherwise have these opportunities.

Tickets, which are $25 for adults or $10 for youth, are available at the POAC Gallery, 313 N. Second Ave., in downtown Sandpoint; by phone at 208-263-6139; online at ArtinSandpoint.org, or at the box office at the Panida Theater. The theater will open at 6 p.m., an hour prior to showtime on Friday, April 17.

“We all know laughter is the best medicine, so if you feel a cold coming on or just need a smile to brighten your day, buy your tickets today,” Stolz said.
