The Ronan City Council meeting on April 8 was short and sweet. The council approved a motion to authorize Mayor Ryan Corum to sign a document acknowledging the change from Ronan Revitalization Committee as the Montana Main Street coordinator to Mission West Community Development Partners.
The City of Ronan is the Montana Main Street affiliate. The Ronan Revitalization Committee, an all-volunteer group that's part of the Ronan Chamber of Commerce, has agreed to the change.
Marc Carstens from Carstens & Associates Land Surveyors asked the council to allow two alleys in the Scearce 2nd Addition to be vacated. The council voted for the measure. The area involved is west of the hospital, and the alleys were not being used, according to Dan Miller, Ronan’s director of public works.
Ben Davis, CEO of Friends of the Children-Flathead Nation, was scheduled to give the council an update on the clubhouse it's constructing at 128 Main Street, but was unable to attend last week's meeting. Friends of the Children is a long-term professional mentoring program, which currently operates clubhouses in Polson and Missoula, and follows children and their families through their school career.
The next city council meeting will be April 22.
