Bonners Ferry Herald | UPDATED 1 week AGO
| April 16, 2026 1:00 AM

The community was abuzz with the word of Boundary Tractor Company (Division of Coeur d'Alene Tractor Co.) “Opening Very Soon”. The April 15, 1976 Bonners Ferry Herald ran an advertisement saying the business would be “Located in former Southside Tractor, Building, South Hill”. One week later (April 22nd Herald), another advertisement introducing Boundary Tractor Co. listing Lee Watkins, Manager and the location “On the South Hill across from Husky”.

The introductory ad read, “We’re not completely moved in and set up yet but we’ll be most happy to do anything we can to help you.” Cal said this was a “soft” opening, and figured that around May 1, 1976 they were fully open.

A few years later, Boundary Tractor moved to the site of the Rustic Motel, and that is where the business is today. Cal and family, along with the crew, are excited to be celebrating 50 years in business here in Boundary County. Look for more information from them as to the date of the celebration. Then stop in to congratulate them for 50 years of helping you!
