Jim Woodward is honest, straightforward

I write to urge you to vote in the May 19 primary election. I’m voting for Jim Woodward, his values align closely with mine. Jim’s honest and straightforward.
In comparison to his opponent, Scott Herndon, who campaigns for smaller government but has no problem telling people what to do regarding freedom, liberty and the like. Let’s look at “some” of his hypocrisy. (There’s much more to write that may prompt a second letter).
Scott staged a promotion for himself to be able to take guns into The Festival. On the surface it was in the guise of “fighting” for rights. He chose to fight with The Festival, a long-time non-profit organization, to tell them what to do. Unfortunately for him, the Idaho Supreme Court supported The Festival and the City - no guns at concerts! Proponents of Mr. Herndon often tout that he paid for this lawsuit himself, however the complete story is that defending the lawsuit cost all Bonner County and City of Sandpoint taxpayers thousands of $$ in legal costs because Herndon grandstanded attempting to override a private organization’s private policies.
We cannot forget Herndon’s years of offensive anti-abortion protests outside of our public schools with disgusting posters and his own children in tow. To this day he defends his anti-abortion legislation and claims no connection with Sandpoint’s current healthcare shortage for women.
Scott Herndon campaigns on personal freedoms, yet his actions show a different pattern. He actually fosters government overreach especially when it promotes his ideologic platform, but private decision-making only when it agrees with him.
Vote smart. Vote Jim Woodward on May 19. He’s the best choice. He’s our guy.
