Teascarlet Fine Art will mark its third anniversary with an open-house celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Teascarlet Studio, 6389 Kootenai St.
Everyone is invited to stop in throughout the day to enjoy light refreshments, including wine and beer, browse the gallery and view new work by owner and artist Hannah Sucsy. Visitors will also have a chance to win a $300 gift certificate, with entries open to anyone who makes a purchase between now and the end of the event, either in person or online.
For Sucsy, the milestone represents both personal and professional achievement after taking a leap of faith three years ago.
Looking ahead, Sucsy plans to continue expanding her work, including commissions and portraits, while also working to complete a book manuscript. She also hopes to take on more large-scale projects that integrate artwork into the design of entire spaces.
She will continue hosting community events throughout the year, including Chalk the Block in July, the Boundary County Artist Studio Tour in September and a winter solstice celebration in December.
As the gallery goes into this next year, Sucsy said she hopes visitors leave with a sense of connection and inspiration.
“I hope that you feel seen when you walk into the gallery,” she said. “Maybe it’s like settling into nostalgia, a memory where everything is right with the world. Maybe it’s the energy of the space that reminds you that you’re alive and that there’s so much beauty that exists around you, if you just remember to stop and notice. Or maybe it’s pulling you forward to hope and expansion beyond where you are in this moment, into something challenging and scary, kind of like what I’m doing.”
