Baseball season opens Sunday when the Libby team comes to play the Bonners Ferry Colts.
Last Tuesday was "Senior Sneak Day". At 3 a.m., 23 members of the senior class and 2 faculty members left town on their way to Twin Lakes and then to Spokane. They returned to Bonners Ferry about 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The superintendent of the Border Patrol from Maine to Blaine, Wash., was in Bonners Ferry to inspect the border. Four new men have recently been assigned to the local station making a total of 16.

The largest cache of marijuana ever found in the State of Idaho - more than $100,000 worth was found in Boundary County.
Mrs. Frances Houck was named Bonners Ferry's first Woman of the Year.
Community Theatre announced it had been awarded a grant of $1,000 from the Idaho Commission for the Arts and Humanities.

For more than 50 years the Lion's Club in Bonners Ferry has sponsored the Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt.
The second Boundary County Walkabout will be held from 1 to 3 this Saturday, with another Start Smart Series of informative presentations at the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Senior Badger Taylor Tompke won the 2011 Mr. Bonners Ferry High School title on Saturday.
Boundary County is among six Idaho counties added to the State Disaster Declaration. The county has seen a significant amount of rain fall and snow melt that has caused damage to roads.
