Full caption: Sandpoint's Roman Turnbull recently committed to continue his football career at the College of the Siskiyous (CCCAA) in Weed, Calif. A 5-foot-11-inch middle linebacker, Turnbull stepped up with 99 total tackles, 48 of which were solo and 17 of which were for losses, and caused and recovered a fumble this past season for the Bulldogs, which posted an 8-3 record under his leadership. The standout senior had six games with 10-plus tackles, including 14 against Twin Falls and 14 in the 5A state quarterfinals against Skyline. "Roman really came on late and stepped it up his senior year," Sandpoint High head football coach Ryan Knowles said. "With a little more development, he's going to be a really good linebacker, and he found a nice home in the College of the Siskiyous. He definitely has an upside, even after this year."
