MISSOULA — Missoula Sentinel swung the bats, Glacier didn’t catch it very well and the result Friday was the Wolfpack’s first baseball loss, a 15-0 setback to the Spartans at Sentinel High School.

Marek Hall hit two doubles for Sentinel (4-5), the first one putting his team up 2-0 in the first inning; the Spartans sent 12 men to the plate in the frame, with Kaden Thennis hitting two singles. His second hit brought in two runs and capped an eight-run outburst.

Sentinel added six runs in the second — Trevor Johnson’s two-run triple was the big hit — before Josh Wood scored the Spartans’ 15th run on an error in the third. That ended the game under the mercy rule.

Wood’s run, like most of Sentinel’s, was unearned; Glacier (5-1) committed seven errors behind pitchers Kyler Croft and Falon Clark. Croft allowed four earned runs and Clark none. All of Croft’s four outs came via strikeout.

Stellan Ridley went three innings on the mound for Sentinel, allowing four hits. He fanned nine.

The Wolfpack is back in action Saturday with a non-league game at Whitefish at 2 p.m.
