LOOKOUT: Less skiing didn’t ruin season

Lookout Pass officially closed for the season April 12. Due to less-than-optimal conditions with the warmer temperatures this winter, we skied half as many days as last year. My husband, Richard, and I rate a successful season not by the number of times we skied, but by the enjoyment we had on the slopes and avoiding any injury. Lookout’s staff were pleasant and management knows how to treat us like family. They even hosted four meals for season pass holders. We have already purchased our passes for next season.

Richard and I have skied for more than 50 years. My only complaint has to do with raising the elite senior rate from 75 years to 80. We skied at Fairmont Hot Springs in Canada in February and Richard, at age 75, skied for free. Just because more and more seniors are up on the slopes does not justify raising the age, in my opinion. However, I still want to thank Lookout for a great season and we’re looking forward to using our new passes.
