McIlhargey, Bravettes beat Knights 12-2

Macey McIlhargey worked through traffic in a complete game, Lily Anderson drove in two runs with a double and Flathead beat Missoula Hellgate 12-2 in Western AA softball action Friday at ABS Park.

McIlhargey allowed 10 hits in five innings of work, striking out four Knights, and helped her cause with an RBI single in the third inning that made it 7-2. The game ended in the fifth inning under the mercy rule. 

June Stickney, who scored twice and drove in two, came in on a passed ball and Olivia Nyman on a double steal as Flathead went up 2-0 in the first inning. The Bravettes added four runs in the second, with Stickney and Sophia Torgison hitting RBI singles.  

Flathead scored five times in the fourth inning, with McIlhargey and Danica Hennell sandwiching RBI singles around Anderson’s double, to make it 12-2.  

McIlhargey pitched  a scoreless fifth, working around an error and a single, to close it out. Hellgate outhit the Bravettes 10-7 but issued eight walks to Flathead hitters.
