Polson rallies to edge Libby softball, 9-8

Polson capitalized on three Libby walks and a Maddie Turner bases-clearing double to score six runs in the fifth inning and rally past Libby Tuesday, 9-8, in high school softball.
Hadleigh Wood knocked a two-run homer for the Loggers, who found their own six-spot in the fourth to take an 8-3 lead.
Libby, which dropped its second straight game after a 3-0 start, brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh after a leadoff single from Maddie Willis, but three consecutive outs ended the game.
Logan McCrea threw 3 2-3 inning for the Pirates (5-3), allowing two hits and no runs. She fanned three. Turner added 3 1-3 innings in the circle.
Carmen Kohler went 4 1-3 innings for Libby.
The Loggers (3-2) return to action Tuesday at Whitefish. Their next home game is Saturday, April 25, hosting Columbia Falls.
