PREP ROUNDUP: Davenport throws another no-hitter as Coeur d'Alene sweeps Lewiston

COEUR d’ALENE — Junior Jenna Davenport pitched her second no-hitter of the year, striking out 12 and walking three in the opener, and the Coeur d’Alene Vikings swept the Lewiston Bengals 10-0 and 11-1 on Thursday at Larry Schwenke Field.
Sophomore Ollie Dudley hit a two-run double in the second inning of the first game for Coeur d’Alene (12-0). Adi Wenglikowski also knocked in a pair of runs for the Vikings.
In the second game freshman Savannah Stevens struck out 11, walked two and scattered three hits for Coeur d’Alene. She also went 2 for 3 with an RBI and scored twice.
Kyndal Bridge went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs, Davenport drove in a pair of runs. Dudley finished 4 for 5 with two RBIs and five runs scored.
Lewiston is 4-10.
Coeur d’Alene plays at Lake City on Tuesday for a doubleheader in a battle for first place in the 6A Inland Empire League.

POST FALLS — Junior Kulani Peahu went 5 for 7 on the day, with seven RBIs and five runs scored as the Trojans swept the Bears.
Peahu was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and three runs in the opener for Post Falls (6-8), including a two-run homer in the second inning. Rylan Morrison hit a solo shot in the second for the Trojans.
McKenna Zimmerman went 4 for 4 in the opener with a triple, two doubles and two RBIs, and finished 6 for 8 with four RBIs and six runs scored for the Trojans.
In the second game Peahu drove in four runs, two on a fifth-inning double.
Also in the fifth inning, Riley Carpenter hit a solo homer and Zimmerman doubled in two runs.
Moscow is 2-13.
Post Falls returns to action next Thursday in a 6A Inland Empire League doubleheader.

SPIRIT LAKE — Sophomore Shae Jones struck out 17, walked none and scattered three hits as the Tigers beat the visiting Cardinals in a makeup game moved from Medical Lake.
Alannah Winland had two hits and drove in three runs for Timberlake (6-5). Prestyn Gardner went 3 for 4 and scored three runs, and Karly Statkus had two hits and scored twice.
“Our bats came alive today," Timberlake coach Jenny Whaley said. “We had a good game plan on attacking hittable pitches. We are sometimes too tentative in the batters box and we did better today. Shae pitched lights out for us again. We just need to keep building on the growth we see each game.”
Medical Lake is 4-5.
Timberlake travels to Bonners Ferry today at 3 p.m. for the first of three meetings between the only two teams in the Intermountain League.
