The Community Resource EnVision Center is proud to host its fourth annual Retirement Mixer on Thursday, April 23, from 3-5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Sandpoint

This unique event is designed to connect retired, newly retired, and soon-to-be retired individuals with meaningful opportunities to stay engaged, give back, and make a lasting impact in their community, Katie Begalke, CREC executive director, said.

Each year, the Retirement Mixer brings together local organizations seeking passionate, skilled individuals and community members eager to use their time and talents in purposeful ways. Over the past three years, the event has sparked countless valuable connections leading to volunteer placements, board service, and ongoing community involvement.

This year’s mixer will feature nonprofit presenters representing a wide range of community sectors, including arts and culture, outdoor and environmental, education and youth, basic needs, civic life, and community support. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from these organizations about how they can get involved, whether through volunteerism, leadership roles, or other forms of engagement.

“Retirement opens the door to a new chapter. One filled with possibility, purpose, and connection,” said Begalke. “This event is about helping people discover where their passions meet community needs, and showing them that their experience and time are incredibly valuable.”

The mixer is free to attend and open to anyone who is retired or planning for retirement.

The Community Resource EnVision Center serves as a hub of support, connection, and hope for individuals and families in need. By partnering with local organizations and providing compassionate, personalized guidance, the Center helps community members navigate resources and build pathways toward stability and well-being. The EnVision Center is a welcoming space where all are met with dignity, care, and a commitment to lasting change.
