Susan Madge Williams, 84

Susan Madge (Myklebust) Williams, 84, passed away peacefully April 2, 2026.

Susan was born June 4, 1941, in The Dalles, Ore., to Theodore Bernard and Juanita T. “Sue” Myklebust. She was raised in Eastern Washington and graduated from Ephrata High School in Ephrata, Wash. She went on to attend Washington State University in Pullman, where she earned her degree in 1963 and was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Following her graduation, Susan began her career in education, teaching elementary school in the Edmonds School District. She was known for her creativity and care in the classroom, bringing warmth and thoughtfulness to her students.

Susan met the love of her life, James T. “Jimmy” Williams. The two were married Oct. 15, 1966, in Pullman, Wash., and made their home in Bellevue, Wash., where they welcomed their daughter, Stacey, in 1969, and later their son, Erik. In 1990, they retired to Hayden Lake, where they lived on the 16th fairway.

Susan cherished her time in Bellevue and Hayden Lake, Idaho, where she created lasting memories with family and friends. She was active in the Lutheran Church, PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), Overlake Country Club and Hayden Lake Country Club.

She was known for her grace, elegance and deep devotion to her family. Susan had a natural ability to bring people together and to make those around her feel welcome and cared for. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, James T. “Jimmy” Williams; her beloved daughter, Stacey Williams Frey; and her brother, Ken Myklebust.

She is survived by her son, Erik Williams of Sammamish, Wash., and her cherished grandchildren, Sydney and J.J. Frey, and Drew, Nick, Sofia and Brooke Williams.

Susan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
