SANDPOINT — Grab your clean boots and come down to Sandpoint Community Hall today for a hoedown dance party.
The free event is being held by Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Hoodoo Valley Howedowners. Held at Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave., the dance runs from 3 to 6 p.m.
Additional dances are set for May 16, 2 to 5 p.m.; and on Sept. 19, from 2 to 5 p.m.
The sessions are designed for those with no square dancing experience. Each dance will provide a chance to meet new friends, get your heart rate up and learn some new steps, organizers said.
Attendees must be 12 years old and above to attend. Dancers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
While there is no charge, a suggested $8 donation helps cover the cost of the professional caller. There is no registration; just drop in and dance.
Participants should wear comfortable, breathable clothing as well as clean, non-marking shoes specifically for the dance floor. Dancers should plan to change out of their outdoor shoes before entering the dance area to help keep the hall in good dance.
