Free trees and more at Arbor Day celebrations

The city of Coeur d'Alene will hold its annual Arbor Day celebration at City Park from 10 a.m. to noon Friday. The parks department and volunteers will plant 18 trees along the seawall. 

In conjunction with the Arbor Day Organization of North Idaho, the city will also be handing out free tree seedlings. The booth will be near the City Park Bandshell and will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

There will also be a raffle for larger young trees in planters. 

The Coeur d'Alene Urban Forestry Office is helping North Idaho College with its tree seedling giveaway April 25 at the Molstead Library at NIC from noon to 2 p.m. There will be vendor booths and snacks.
